Amanda Hughes, a 42-year-old resident of Gwinn, Michigan, visited the Kwik Trip on M-553 in Marquette intending to purchase a $20 Wild Time scratch-off ticket. Upon discovering it was sold out, the clerk suggested the 50X Wild Time game. Hughes took the recommendation and later scratched off a $500,000 prize.

Initially skeptical, Hughes reread the instructions and returned to the store to confirm her win. "It was surreal when I realized I really had just won $500,000!" she said. She plans to use the winnings to buy a house and save for her children.

Hughes, who occasionally plays scratch-off tickets, expressed disbelief at her luck, stating, "I still can't believe this is real! This money is going to be life changing for my family."
