An Indianapolis bankruptcy attorney named Mark S Zuckerberg sued Meta in September 2025 after Facebook repeatedly banned his account for impersonating a celebrity.
Zuckerberg says his account was disabled five times over eight years, costing him thousands of dollars in lost business. He has practised law for 38 years.
The lawsuit filed in Marion Superior Court says Meta breached a contract after he paid $11,000 for advertising that was taken down without warning.
"It's not funny," Zuckerberg told WTHR TV in Indianapolis. "Not when they take my money."
Emails shared with local media show Facebook accused him of not using his authentic name. He says he submitted photo ID, credit cards, and images of his face to prove it.
Meta said it reinstated his account after finding an error and is working to stop repeats. Zuckerberg noted his account was restored only after the lawsuit was filed.
