Tennessee Man's Plunger Assault Ends in Child Kidnapping

In Knoxville, Tennessee, 19-year-old Charles Coffman allegedly assaulted a man using a toilet plunger, stripped him naked, poured bleach on his wounds, and kidnapped his 3-year-old child. Police discovered the victim during a wellness check at 4 a.m., finding him with severe head injuries in the bathroom. Coffman was later found with the child in the victim's vehicle.
The incident began when Coffman claimed the child's mother asked him to pick up the child, leading to a violent altercation. He reportedly slammed the victim to the ground, struck him with his fists, and forced a plunger into his mouth. The mother denied any contact with Coffman, stating she never authorized him to take the child.
Coffman faces charges including aggravated kidnapping, attempted second-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and theft. The victim's current condition remains unknown.
