Michigan Bear's 2-Year Plastic Necklace Finally Removed

In Montmorency County, Michigan, a black bear was rescued after two years of wearing a plastic lid around its neck. First spotted in 2023, the bear eluded capture until a recent trail camera sighting led to its safe removal.
The bear, now 110 pounds, had scarring but was otherwise healthy. The lid, likely from a 55-gallon drum used in bear baiting, highlighted the risks of improper waste disposal.
Despite its plastic accessory, the bear managed to thrive, showcasing wildlife's resilience amid human-induced challenges.
