Paradromics Connexus brain implant briefly entered a real human skull at the University of Michigan on May 14, 2025, recording neuron-level brain signals for 10 minutes before swift removal. CEO Matt Angle called the human compatibility test 'very, very gratifying.'

Researchers, using a unique surgical window, implanted the Connexus device—smaller than a dime with 420 electrodes—into a consenting epilepsy patient’s temporal lobe. After 10 minutes, the device was removed, leaving witnesses marveling at its data-capturing speed and tiny size.

Before humans, Paradromics only tested Connexus in sheep—making this brief human debut a historic leap for brain-computer interfaces.
