Chinese robot developer Agibot has begun renting humanoid robots as wedding ring bearers in Dalian, China. The service launched in late December, turning robots into ceremonial helpers. Couples can hire the A2 Ultra humanoid robot for about $2,200 per event. The machines can walk, dance and even play instruments while delivering rings down the aisle. Agibot says it has prepared more than 1,000 humanoid and quadruped robots for rentals. The company aims to reach 400,000 users in 2026 through weddings and corporate events. The rentals are part of a broader push to normalize robots in everyday settings. Weddings offer visibility, controlled environments and plenty of cameras for social media exposure. The company is betting that novelty will outweigh nerves around machines at intimate events. Corporate clients are also booking robots as hosts, performers and brand mascots. For now, the robots do not object, forget the rings or steal the spotlight. They simply show up on time, which already sets a high bar for wedding helpers.
